Side Sleeper Pillows FAQs

How Long Does Memory Foam Last, And Is There A Warranty?

Our memory foam pillows are designed to last for years with proper care. We offer a comprehensive warranty to ensure your satisfaction.

What is the best pillow for side sleepers with broad shoulders?

Broad shoulders need a higher loft, usually at the top of the 10cm to 15cm range or above. A fixed height pillow rarely works, which is why an adjustable design suits taller sleepers and anyone 5'11" and over.

How high should a pillow be for a side sleeper?

Most side sleepers need a pillow between 10cm and 15cm high, because the pillow has to fill the gap between your ear and the mattress created by your shoulder. Broader shoulders need more height. The Groove Adjustable Pillow offers three height settings plus two cheek heights, so you can match the loft to your own frame rather than guessing.

How long does memory foam last, and is there a guarantee?

Can you wash Memory Foam pillows?

The special composition of foam means the pillow itself can't be washed.

However, the Groove Original and Groove Adjustable 2.0 pillows come with a plush quilted pillow cover, to protect the inner, which is fully machine washable.

We also sell additional pillow covers; these are a great way to rejuvenate your pillow.

Should side sleepers use a firm or soft pillow?

Side sleepers generally need a medium to firm pillow. A soft pillow collapses under the weight of your head during the night, which drops your neck out of alignment by the early hours. Memory foam holds its shape while still contouring, which is why it suits side sleeping better than down or polyester.

How do I know if my pillow is too high or too low?

If your pillow is too high, your neck bends upward and you wake with stiffness on the underside of your neck. If it is too low, your head drops toward the mattress and you feel strain in the shoulder you sleep on. In the correct position, your nose lines up with the centre of your chest and your spine stays level.

The Original Groove Pillow has collected over 9,000 5* reviews in recent years, with almost everyone seeing pain relief and improved sleep quality.

What's the difference between the Original and 2.0 Pillow?

After 7 rounds of re-development, the Groove Original Pillow has enabled pain-free, deep sleep to over 30,000 customers.

However, we recognise that even then, one size doesn't fit all, and so the Groove 2.0 Adjustable Pillow was developed to cater for a wider range of body shapes and sleep positions.

Suitable in particular for those who are 5'4" and under, 5'11" and over, or those who change position over time and want a pillow that adjusts with them.

The 2.0 Adjustable Pillow offers 3 heights in addition to 2 depths of central groove for back sleeping and 2 cheek heights for side sleepers

Why Side Sleepers Need the Right Pillow

Side sleeping is often recommended because it can help keep the airways open, reduce snoring and support spinal health. However, it also places more pressure on the shoulders and hips than other sleeping positions, making the right pillow essential.

For side sleepers, the goal is to keep the head, neck and spine in a straight, neutral line. A pillow that's too low allows the head to tilt towards the mattress, while one that's too high pushes the neck upwards. Both can contribute to neck pain, shoulder discomfort and disrupted sleep.

The Groove® Adjustable Pillow is designed to solve this by letting you customise the pillow height to suit your shoulder width and preferred sleeping position. If you need additional support, the Groove® Body Pillow helps keep your hips, shoulders and knees aligned throughout the night, while the Groove® 3-in-1 Knee Pillow reduces pressure on the lower back, hips and pelvis by improving lower-body alignment.

Whether you're looking to relieve neck pain, reduce shoulder pressure or simply sleep more comfortably on your side, choosing the right pillow can make a significant difference to your sleep quality and how you feel when you wake up.
