Why Pillow Height Causes Shoulder Pain

There's no single correct pillow height for everyone, instead it depends on your body shape, your shoulder width, and how you sleep.

Side Sleepers

Generally need a firmer, higher pillow (roughly 10–18cm) to fill the gap between the head and mattress and keep the neck and spine aligned. Too low, and the shoulder drops and takes the load instead.

Back Sleepers

Tend to need a medium-loft pillow that supports the neck's natural curve without pushing the head too far forward.

The quilted jacquard outer can be machine washed at 30 degrees with your normal white bedding.
Please do not wash the pillow itself.

However, we recognise that even then, one size doesn't fit all, and so the Groove® 2.0 Adjustable Pillow was developed to cater for a wider range of body shapes and sleep positions.
Suitable in particular for those who are 5'4" and under, 5'11" and over, or those who change position over time and want a pillow that adjusts with them.

I've seen a lot of neck pain pillows online. What makes the Groove® 2.0 pillow unique?

Is there a good pillow for migraines?
A pillow can't treat migraines directly, but neck tension and poor sleep posture are common contributing factors for many people. Finding a height that keeps your neck properly aligned through the night removes one possible trigger. If migraines are a regular or severe issue, please consult a doctor.
What's the best pillow for shoulder arthritis?

What materials is the Groove® pillow made from?

What's the best pillow for headaches?

    Supportive and cool.

    During the current heatwave I've found that this pillow stays quite cool. However, I bought it for my neck problem and it's definitely helping.

    I have a holiday due soon and will be taking my spare Groove pillow with me.

    I ordered this pillow and I’ll be honest I really didn’t expect much. I honestly thought this will just be another gimmick given I had ordered similar pillows before and nothing worked. Well here I am eating my words because after a few days I started to notice that I was no longer waking up in the morning with a really sore neck and my frequent sore heads have also subsided drastically. I ordered the adjustable pillow because I’m only 5ft1 so I knew I would of needed to adjust to my height and all I’ve done is take the two bottom layers out, haven’t touched the sides and it seems to be working a treat. Would definitely recommend to anyone like me that’s struggled for a long time to find a pillow to support their neck. If you are waking up every morning with a sore/stiff neck then give this pillow a chance.

    Improved comfort and affordable

    After much research I settled on The Groove pillow and I am glad I did! It has provided me with a much more comfortable sleep. Also less neck and back pain in the morning due to improved sleep position. I would recommend this product!

    Loving this pillow!

    Having had the original groove pillow for two years, I was finding problems with neck pain during the day. I decided to give this adjustable pillow a try and after a couple of nights of working out which parts were right for me,I now feel confident I have the right adjustment for a good night’s sleep. I’m very pleased with the product and happy that my neck is feeling more comfortable.

    The adjustable is worth it

    I've mainly been a side sleeper my whole life, so I was initially attracted to the Groove adjustable pillow for the raised sides. Having been using it a week or so, not only my side sleeping doesn't cause shoulder pain in the morning, but I've found myself a back sleeper now! The groove pillow's middle dent that cradles your head and the contoured neck area make back sleeping so much more comfortable, and for me, now preferable! I did remove one full layer and the additional middle layer as well to get the comfort I needed. I'd recommend this pillow.
