We’ve all done it, lying awake at night, half tired, half wired, mentally bargaining with ourselves about what we’d be willing to change if it meant finally getting a decent night’s sleep.
And according to our latest customer survey, people are genuinely willing to go pretty far!
As better sleep becomes the number one health priority heading into 2026, we wanted to understand what that actually looks like in real life.
Not the ideal version but the honest one, what people are actually willing to give up, reset, or rethink if it leads to better rest.
People Aren’t Just Talking About Better Sleep. They’re Acting on It
One thing came through straight away. This isn’t just aspirational.
Around a third of people said they’re planning significant changes to improve their sleep, and many had already tried multiple approaches in the final months of 2025.
That tells us people aren’t waiting for January to magically fix things. They’re already experimenting throughout the year, adjusting routines, and looking for changes that feel realistic enough to stick.
Better sleep isn’t a vague goal anymore. It’s something people are actively working towards.
What Would You Actually Give Up for Better Sleep?
We also asked a slightly more confronting question. What would you be willing to give up if it meant sleeping better?
The answers were interesting.
50 percent said they’d give up late-night screen time.
48 percent said they’d give up sugary snacks.
Only 27 percent said they’d give up alcohol.
Late-night screens were the clear standout with most people already know scrolling before bed keeps the brain switched on longer than it should, even when the body is tired. Alcohol, on the other hand, is a much harder habit to let go of.
And that’s kind of the point, you see, better sleep isn’t about perfection or extreme rules, instead it’s about choosing changes that feel doable in real life, not just in theory.
Better Sleep Usually Comes From a Few Small Shifts
What came through clearly in the survey is that better sleep rarely comes from one big, dramatic change. It’s usually the result of a few small habits working together.
Things like:
1. Having some kind of wind-down routine, even if it’s short.
2. Reducing screens before bed, rather than cutting them out completely.
3. Keeping wake-up times relatively consistent.
4. Dealing with stress earlier in the evening instead of carrying it into bed.
5. Making sure your sleep setup actually supports your body.
None of these need to be perfect, they just need to be consistent enough to help your body and brain switch off.
